Painting Process
Here I have included several progress images of my paintings, in the various stages of development. I have few rules, and use different processes with my paintings, normally dependent on the subject. I will often start with a simple grid on my canvas, which helps with the placement of my subject and the proportions. Then I will draw the main image, and occasionally follow that with a tonal underpainting, normally using a raw sienna acrylic paint which dries quickly. This helps with the positioning of the dark and light areas of the painting. I will then often start painting the furthest area first, (normally the sky in my landscapes), and gradually work my way to the foreground.
